Collin Kelley posted recently in response to a Meme, and told anyone reading his responses to "consider yourself tagged." So, Collin, here goes:

1. What is your favorite guilty pleasure?
Reading fashion/beauty magazines. They're uniformly silly, but hey--you learn great make-up tips!

2. How do you take your coffee?
Really new for me--Starbucks' Frapuccino Mocha Orange
Although I worked at the very FIRST espresso/capuccino bar in Atlanta(Lenox Mall's old Davison-Macy's store's Cellar Cafe'), I never even TASTED coffee, until a few years ago.I still prefer green or white tea(Teavana's varieties for hot/iced teas rock!), love "Boba teas"(Korean or Vietnamese "bubble" teas with tapioca pearls added).

3. Who were you in a previous life?
A nun, I think.

4. Who or what is your greatest influence?
My parents influenced me greatly; still do.I try to emulate their sense of faith--in people, in life, in God.
What I DON'T emulate in my parents:their (sometimes)reluctance to try out new things, ideas...
My maternal grandmother(Yia-Yia) and the recently departed Theya Helen are huge influences, too(Encouraging self-expression, a Libertine sense of life, etc.).And Tennessee Williams(first play I ever witnessed:"The Glass Menagerie"(WOW!)--at Asolo State Theatre.I was in 6th grade.)

5. What is the worst film you ever paid to see?
Uh, I believe it was called "Naked".It was at the Peachtree Hills Cinema.I have never walked out on a film, but I did this one--I left a little more than half-way into it.The characters simply had NO redeeming value. I just could not develop ANY feeling for them. Except that they were wasting my time.

6. What is the best thing you can buy for a dollar?
Fruit!(The delicious huge plums at "Super H Mart";the FRESH lychee fruit when it's in season).

7. What is the worst present you ever received?
Uh, I dunno. I guess I feel uneasy when I receive something radically expensive, if I cannot reciprocate, in-kind.

8. What is your favorite word(s)?
Peace.
I also love a word which is pronounced "Pet-wa", which means a person's "manner" of speech. It's delicious to SAY this word, though I do not know how to spell it!

As is the norm with Memes, I'll ADD my own, new question:
"Who's your favorite film-maker?"

It's a dead-even, three-way tie between lustrous, sensual Fellini(check out "Amarcord"!)and quirky, edg-y, Robert Altman("Short Cuts";"Nashville",too many others to list).
And I LOVE WRITER ALAN BALL, who can break you with "American Beauty" and engage you for life, with stuff like "Six Feet Under". I still have dreams about the characters from SFU!!!
