MERRY CHRISTMAS & HAPPY HOLIDAYS TO YOU & YOURS!!

To all of my faithful blog-readers, I hope you have a very Merry Christmas. To those of you who celebrate in other ways, may your Holidays be shiny and bright!
This year, I am stuck in bed. But I am truly aware of the transformative power of this Season of Hope. In bed, I have plenty of time to think, to wonder. And it occurs to me that there is truly so much for which to be grateful--deeply, earnestly grateful for--this year.
On a personal level, I am going to finally get, and be, healthy.
It's been a long time coming. My insides and outsides are sore, but I am taking comfort in the fact that in only a few more weeks, I can eat whatever I choose, and fully enjoy meals again(smile).
In terms of our country, I have very high hopes. Though my idealism has been pinched a bit--I still do not understand President-Elect Obama choosing Rick Warren, when he could've chosen someone much more inclusive(Roman Catholic women-priests advocate, and advocate for peace, Fr. Roy Bourgeois; author of Dead Man Walking, and capital-punishmment opponent, Sr. Helen Prejean; openly gay, Episcopal Bishop Gene Robinson, to name a few) to speak at his inauguration--I remain very optimistic. This country has endured for many years, and will continue to endure. I hope that we will begin to see ourselves, as I wrote at Salon.com, many months ago, not as merely "Americans", but as "Citizens of the World".
Have Happy Holidays!
Peace, kids.

I was surprised to find posts from you and very happy about it! I'm glad you're feeling better actually finding good in this down time.

I'm going to check back now to see if the photos of your wedding dress ever came in.

Much cheer Lisa!
