KAREN HEAD, AT LONDON'S PLINTH!!!

KAREN HEAD, AT LONDON'S PLINTH!!!
If you did not get to see Karen Head live at London's Plinth(in Trafalgar Square), you missed out on a real treat! Karen was one of the lucky ones, selected to perform for one hour on the platform known as "the Plinth".
It was exhilirating to see the clear, sunny(yes, London was clear and sunny!) weather, the beautiful mix of people strolling about, and Karen's warm voice, emanating from her perch above the crowd, as she created a poem, using input via Twitter as one resource, and suggestions from those gathered below, as another.
It was in a word.....sublime!

Have a beautiful, poetry-filled day!
Peace, kids.

Karen must feel pretty lucky she got to read in London coming from Atlanta. I am impressed she read one of yours. You must be honored. I'm impressed, congratulations Lisa!

Karen was fantastic. It was quite and honor to be selected. The project is designed to give a snap-shot of modern Britain, so Karen's participation was significant enough to have Time magazine follow her there. Can't wait to see what they say.

This is the second time I've read about this tonight. What an amazing opportunity. I have read in front of many crowds, some of them what I would consider fairly large. But I would freeze doing what she was doing. I'm certain of it.

Average Patriot--Hi there, thanks for stopping in.
But I did NOT send a poem for Karen Head to read. Hoewever, if you read the link I gave you all-- Collin Kelley's "Modern Confessional" blog, then you read that she did indeed receive one of his, and read it there! It was delightful!
Collin Kelley--SOOOOO exciting! I love that she used several poems from "back home"(USA).
Keith Wilson--Welcome! Yes, this event is getting great publicity, as well it should!Come visit again!

You describe it perfectly – her warm voice and the sunny day. Wild stuff. I was glad to be a part of it. She was wonderful. I would love a chance to read your poem that she read aloud. It all happened so fast, I missed some of it.

Christine--No, I did NOT submit a poem. I think a commenter here incorrectly credited me with sending her a poem, but he may have been referring to Collin Kelley's blog, which I provided a link to.
I LOVED hearing all these words, spoken in London, from "back home".
Pixies--Hi there! No, I was NOT in England, but Karen Head was(and still is). She's teaching there for a few more weeks, and is someone I admire and like a great deal!
I'll head to your blog, to catch up with you!! ;)
