The New Year is almost here. I posted a few weeks ago, about New Year's Resolutions.
I've already said I think my main Resolution will be to complete tasks AS IF they are for someone ELSE-- as that way-- the tasks will get completed in a timely manner.
I also think I need to live even more "in the moment". This has always been a mantra for me. My lovely gal, Crystal, is an example of someone who lives IN THE MOMENT. Although she's accomplished in her "day" job, and very successful in her writing(poetry, working on a novel), and is a very fulfilled mother to a bright little boy, and so has mastered the art of planning and executing worthwhile goals, she manages to take DELIGHT in the small moments. The daring moments, that make life worth living. She carries little or no anger, and is joy-filled, and joy-ful.....

In focusing a great deal on getting published, and finishing my one-woman "Show & Tell", I've been living much more for TOMORROW, rather than TODAY. Not good. Definitely not as satisfying....

I have another friend--a friend who lives almost every day, in the PAST. It saddens me to see this individual, every single day, week, month, and year---speak of 1990 as if was a few days ago, or speak of events in the 1980's as though it was last week. REMEMBERING the past is one thing--and remembering--having memories that are joyous--or even heartwrenching--to recall, is important. But never moving forward, and allowing oneself to be drowned in what coulda/shoulda been, is heartbreaking to see....

So, for me--more moments in the present, less "tommorow" stuff...and for my dear friend, still living in the twenty-years-ago-past, wake up--walk in the here and now. Open the door. It's nearly 2007....
