HAPPY NEW YEAR, 2014!

Well, kids, it is January 4th and the New Year looks brighter than I ever expected.... While we as a family are still reeling from all the parental-illness of the past year, I can say I am buoyed by my resilient family, my always-kind friends, and you, dear readers... I have made only a few Resolutions this year, so I can actually achieve them: * Drive! My biggest failing in life, is my confidence (or lack, thereof). It affects my mobility, as I seldom drive(and I have a beautiful car sitting in our garage!). * Submit more writing. I've already begun doing this. I have a children's book to submit, a play to finish, and lots of (new) poems. See a poem of mine, just published in December, in the Current Issue of Flycatcher Journal: www.flycatcherjournal.org * More CONFIDENCE. I need to get New Headshots, and pursue my acting full-out, full-on. * If and When my Family needs me, to be available--as I have been the past year-- with extra energy and patience. And finally, to help in that promise, to exercise and do more meditation, every single day! I've (so far!) been walking/running every day now, at least 1-2 miles. I'm meditating now, twice a day: morning and night. What are YOUR promises to yourself? Peace, kids.

NEW YEARS' RESOLUTIONS FOR 2010!

My New Year's Resolutions are similar to last year:
1) Get and stay healthy.(This one is "Mission Accomplished", and I mean that. So far, so good!)
2) Become a kinder person.(I'm told all the time I am very compassionate, so maybe I'll get there.)
3) See more houses of worship. (In order to learn more about other faiths, I'm planning a trip to a Hindu Temple in Lilburn, a Mosque in Midtown, and a Synagogue in Alpharetta.)
4) Perform, perform, perform!(This one is exciting. No details this minute, but bigger news coming!)
5) Publish. Everything I've promised to ya'll, to do. (Exciting to finally get this accomplished.)
6) Visit Greece.(Lifetime goal, to learn to speak some Greek(lessons soon) and to visit Greece. Hoping to visit before Fall, 2010.)
7) Bongoes. Play drums.(Currently searching the Internet for a cool set.)
What are YOUR RESOLUTIONS FOR 2010?
Peace, kids.

The New Year is almost here. I posted a few weeks ago, about New Year's Resolutions.
I've already said I think my main Resolution will be to complete tasks AS IF they are for someone ELSE-- as that way-- the tasks will get completed in a timely manner.
I also think I need to live even more "in the moment". This has always been a mantra for me. My lovely gal, Crystal, is an example of someone who lives IN THE MOMENT. Although she's accomplished in her "day" job, and very successful in her writing(poetry, working on a novel), and is a very fulfilled mother to a bright little boy, and so has mastered the art of planning and executing worthwhile goals, she manages to take DELIGHT in the small moments. The daring moments, that make life worth living. She carries little or no anger, and is joy-filled, and joy-ful.....

In focusing a great deal on getting published, and finishing my one-woman "Show & Tell", I've been living much more for TOMORROW, rather than TODAY. Not good. Definitely not as satisfying....

I have another friend--a friend who lives almost every day, in the PAST. It saddens me to see this individual, every single day, week, month, and year---speak of 1990 as if was a few days ago, or speak of events in the 1980's as though it was last week. REMEMBERING the past is one thing--and remembering--having memories that are joyous--or even heartwrenching--to recall, is important. But never moving forward, and allowing oneself to be drowned in what coulda/shoulda been, is heartbreaking to see....

So, for me--more moments in the present, less "tommorow" stuff...and for my dear friend, still living in the twenty-years-ago-past, wake up--walk in the here and now. Open the door. It's nearly 2007....
