I hope your Wednesday is going well.I must have a lot to say, as this is my third entry today!
Last night, I was at the always-fabulous "Outwrite Books", browsing the stacks of books, and lots of especially clever made-for-gift-giving goodies, too!Edg-y, funny,
"children's"(or those simply young-at-heart)banks, "What Republicans Say" facts-cards
and a wild assortment of jewelry are a few of the cooool, very NEW offerings!
Poetry with Franklin Abbott and Friends was scheduled for 8:00 P.M., and I arrived early to look around, get a great seat, grab a sandwich, etc...
Last night featured Dustin Brookshire, who read from poems dealing with religious intolerance;familial bigotry towards gays;rape;and lost love. All are central to Dustin's work.
Karen Head was mesmerizing in her delivery of poems both soaked with desire, and filled with loss.I have enjoyed hearing her so-called "Paris poems" in the past, and was delighted to hear lots of "newer" pieces.I bought a copy of her book, "Shadow Boxes" and am looking forward to her new chapbook, which is forthcoming
I shot this photo at "Outwrite" last night, from left to right, Franklin Abbott, Collin Kelley, Karen Head, Rupert Fike.
That's it for today. At least, for now!

Thanks for the great photo, Lisa!
Searching through some old entries and found this, Collin Kelley.
You're welcome, even though I do not see the picture here on my mobile-device (iPhone 4)
