GAY MARRIAGE SHOULD BE CELEBRATED BY US ALL!
Because it is recognition of legal, civil, moral connection between two people who love, and are committed, to one another. Because if we are a loving nation, we are pro-love. Because this group of people---LGBTQ persons, are the last group to be afforded what EVERYONE ELSE takes for granted. Because it's common sense. Because LGBTQ people just want to be able to say "Here is my wife." or "Here is my husband.", with the same joy as everyone else. Because this is long, long over-due.
I hope this law in California will eventually lead to protections for LGBTQ persons, such that they are FEDERALLY ensured of their rights...
I heard Ellen Degeneres wasted no time, and asked lovely Portia to be her bride.Congratulations, ladies.

I'm celebrating now, but in November the Christian terrorists in California will get a bill on the ballot to nullify the decision. It's whether or not the people of California are tired of being dictated to by this minority of religious zealots that will save the day.
Take heart in the fact that there is a very strong vocal group of reasonable, activist Christian folks(yes, Christian in the truest sense of the word) who are working very hard to make certain Peace and Social Justice--EQUALITY--is afforded to everyone. The central focus of most Christians right now is unity, environmental stewardship, service to the poor and disenfranchised, and creating PEACE in the world...
As far as those "fundies" go, I wish they could understand that while they are certainly free to not celebrate someone's marriage in theirchurch-space they absolutely DO NOT have the right to control, or attempt to control, equality under our U.S. Constitution!
What an excellent result. I certainly hope it isn't overturned. That would be incredibly disappointing.
