Dead Mule Southern School of Literature!

Dead Mule: The title of a wonderfully produced literary journal I've been reading for a few years now. Helen Losse, the Poetry Editor has pulled together another spectacularly diverse collection of literature(fiction, poetry, essays) for April. And, since April is National Poetry Month, she's chosen an extensive array of poets, including South Carolina Poet Laureate-- Marjory Wentworth, also, David Need, Harry Calhoun, and a slew of other well-known names. And "yours truly" was included in this edition, too...What a great feeling for me, to be included among such talent!

Speaking of poetry, it's not too late to hit the Poetic Asides(Blog courtesy Robert Lee Brewer, and Writers' Digest) contest, Poem-A-Day, for April.
Click on the link, below, for guidelines. And good luck!

Peace, kids!

Hey - well done on the publication.

Title reminds me of a sit-com we had a few years ago called "Drop The Dead Donkey"

I went over and looked at your work....good stuff. I liked that 'What I Believe'. Don't know that I'd classify it as poetry, but then, I'm not a poet. I do have an appreciation for the written word though, and I found it to be quite dynamic. Congrats, and keep up the good work!

That is a good picture! I see you are a good poet! It would be nice if you post some of your poems right here, no?

Pixies--Thank you!!"Drop The Dead Donkey"? I do hope it was NOT about hurting donkeys!
Brother Tim--Hi. Well, thank you. The "What I Believe" is a pretty fair example of a "prose poem". It actually was the result of a "exercise" in one of the Poetry Workshops I took with the lovely, talented poet--Cecilia Woloch--years ago!
Helen at DeadMule--You're welcome. I heart ya'll!
Marianna--Just click over to these journals(like DeadMule), online. Voila'!!
Collin--Thanks, hon.I began reading Dead Mule when you told me about it, a few years ago.
Average Patriot--Thank you for the word up. I should post some work here. I'll do that this month(April is National Poetry Month).

Larry--Well, thank you. Actually, there is some great poetry on display in the blogosphere; perhaps I need to highlight places where you may find great poetry. Some examples:
The Poetry Superhighway
The Pedestal Magazine
Poetic Asides
The Chattahoochee Review(in print, and on-line)
VERB(an audio-literature-magazine)
and of course,
Dead Mule School of Southern Literature.
