A space for poetry and performance
Sorry...what I meant to say was: I like Celine, and I'm not afraid to say it!
Hmmm...not sure what your "original post" was, PWADJ,but thank you for the positive comment, here...I think Celine Dion has come a looong way. I used to detest that "Titanic" song. Then, for some reason, immediately following the shell-shock-ed-ness(is that a word?)of 9/11, I cried whenever I heard that "My Heart Will Go On" thing.(smarm-y as that may sound, it's true.)Immediately following 9/11, BEFORE our government went really crazy, there was a period where we ALL mourned, without feeling embarassed to do so--I daresay we've been robbed of being able to even feel violated, as we've now violated others/retaliated against Afghanistan/invaded innocent, sovreign nations countries/are embarrased by our government's actions. Celine's grown up, and her voice is absolutely pure when she sings hymns like O Holy Night, or Ave'Maria.I'm not one to worry about whether it's "hip" or not to admire someone. I like who I like.
