BARACK OBAMA WINS AGAIN, AND AGAIN!
I'm really getting very excited about this. I'd predicted a Hawaii win, but was surprised he won Wisconsin so handily!I really think Texas is still Hillary-country, but Ohio may be up for grabs.Pennsylvania, hmmm, I dunno who carries more weight there.
Whoever secures the nomination, I certainly hope they give serious thought to their running-mate.In Hillary's case, she'll NEED Senator Obama--if he'd be willing to take a co-pilot position.But, like I said over two years ago, I really do not see Hillary getting the nomination.If Senator Obama is the nominee, I hope he'll consider Hillary(even though my personal "first pick" would be John Edwards), in order to keep the Democratic party pacified.
What are your thoughts, readers? A number of women have told me that they became convinced to vote Obama, after hearing my reasons for backing him.That's flattering to me, and I definitely believe Senator Barack Obama IS the best candidate...but I have a tiny voice inside that still wishes I could vote for a woman, too. What choices we have, in 2008. Never thought I'd live to see such progress, such beauty.

DEMS "DEBATE"....
I did not see a whole lot of difference in terms of opinions, and views, and actual PLANS between Obama, and Hillary....
that said, Obama is the one for me.He has, as I've repeated for almost two years now(even before he decided to run), NO ties to lobbyists money, and/or major corporations(Hillary unfortunately, definitely does have a lot she "owes" these kinds of folks).
Obama's momentum appears unstoppable.
And, I think he can actually WIN over John "Grandpa Munster" (thank you, Bill Maher!)McCain.
Hillary at the top of the Dems ticket would be a mistake, but I do think (if she'll actually accept the second-slot)vice-president would be okay with most folks.
Still wishing John Edwards had hung in there, for the second-slot, but those days I suppose, are gone(sigh).
I had been sending out info on Edwards, and had simultaneously signed up with Obama's campaign, a few months ago.
After Edwards dropped out, I signed on to do more campaigning for Obama, which begins for me, this weekend.

John Edwards is out? It certainly looks like he's ended his run for the office of President, though the actual word he used is telling:
"suspending", not ending, was the word he chose.....Hmmmmmmm.
methinks he could hop into the second-slot of nominee for Vice-President(if asked), and sail to victory with Obama at the helm, quite easily!
But then, there's Hillary. Champion for women and children, highly educated and skilled, and the most experienced. Unfortunately, as I have been saying for two years now, she is extremely unpopular--with most men, and approximately half of all Democrats.
And is seen as very divisive.I've also noted that the Pharmaceutical Industry OWNS her, by way of all the hefty $$ from their powerful lobby which has handed her millions...And let's not forget the war-machine, including the company Halliburton, and several key REPUBLICANS, who have contributed to her campaign!!
So, let's support Barack Obama completely, and let's hope he eventually selects John Edwards for a running mate.That's a ticket that has, as I've said before--the vision of Obama, the pragmatism of Edwards--in short, the ticket that has the ability to WIN over a Republican candidate.
I have said repeatedly I believe if John McCain gets the nomination(hardly a "given", seeing as how the Repubs tend to not choose "moderates" like McCain), that opposite Obama, there would be a clear choice in terms of VIEWS OF THE WORLD...
I think it's like this:
Republicans think of themselves as simply American(we have only to look at their views on immigration, their insistence on establishing a "national language", etc.., to see how pervasive this exclusivity is felt by them) only,
whereas Democrats see our role as Americans, as being
Citizens of the World.
I hope the match-up will be between John McCain and Barack Obama.
A contest between Mitt Romney and Barack Obama or Mike Huckabee and Barack Obama, would be too boring. It would be a slam-dunk for Democrats, I believe.
I think if Hillary wins the nomination, she'll lose the race for the Presidency....
Possibly to one of the lesser Repubs, and definitely to John McCain.
Both Barack Obama, and John McCain have collaborated--across the aisles, Democrat and Republican, and will continue to do so.Both have pledged to do so.Both men wage fair campaigns, with little or no ugliness, and both dislike the old school politicians.
And on the Iraq War, there is a very very clear distinction:
John McCain has said "Whether it takes 100 years, or 1,000, we will have victory in Iraq..."
He makes no apologies for that statement, saying we must "win".
Barack Obama has said "We should be as careful in getting out, as we were careless in going in,", and has pledged to draw down troops immediately upon taking office.
How do YOU feel about the war in Iraq? As for me, I do not believe ANY militairy solution is possible.
The troops did what this government asked of them, and more. Let them come home.

Okay, I've officially HAD IT with Ann Coulter. I was able to laugh at some of her ridiculous assertions in the past...
Recently, however, I was sickened by her digs at 9/11 widows whom she called "harpies" in the wake of their loss, claiming they "enjoyed" their husband's death, as they were becoming "millionaires".
Now she's using ugly language again--and anti-gay bias-- to further her narrow-minded, hate-filled agenda...

Ms. Coulter, you aren't even appealing to Red-State voters,because your color is yellow--the color of cowardice.Wrapping yourself in the flag, and shouting epithets at others... If Ms. Coulter's comments weren't so venomous, maybe I could still laugh....

Outspoken U.S. conservative columnist Ann Coulter is drawing fire from Republicans and Democrats alike after publicly using a derogatory gay slur in reference to Democratic presidential hopeful John Edwards.
"Ann Coulter not only once again went out of her way to use a nasty epithet, she pushed her offensiveness up a notch," Amy Ridenour, president of the National Center for Public Policy Research, said on Sunday.
Coulter made the comments on Friday during a speech at the influential American Conservative Union's Political Action Conference, calling Edwards a "faggot."
"We conservatives have enough trouble overcoming the false things that are said about us without paying for a platform upon which we shoot ourselves annually in the foot," Ridenour, whose group helped sponsor the conference, said in a statement on the center's Web site.
Coulter said the comment was a joke and on her Web site she carried the speech with the comment, "I'm so ashamed, I can't stop laughing." She then said Edwards' campaign chairman's main job was "fronting for Arab terrorists."
Edwards, a 2008 presidential contender and the party's 2004 vice presidential candidate, said Coulter's comments were "un-American and indefensible."
"The kind of hateful language she used has no place in political debate or our society at large," he wrote in comments posted to his Web site on Saturday.
"I believe it is our moral responsibility to speak out against that kind of bigotry and prejudice every time we encounter it," Edwards added.
The candidate also posted a video of Coulter's comments, asking supporters to raise $100,000 in so-called "Coulter Cash" for his campaign to "fight back against the politics of bigotry."
Coulter's Friday speech raised objections from Republican presidential hopefuls Sen. John McCain (news, bio, voting record) of Arizona, former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney and former New York Mayor Rudolph Giuliani as well as Democrats.
In a statement on Sunday, Romney spokesman Kevin Madden said, "It was an offensive remark. Political discourse ought to be more substantive and thoughtful." McCain, the only contender who did not attend the event, and Giuliani called Coulter's words inappropriate, according to the New York Times.
"Ann Coulter's words of hate have no place in the public sphere much less our political discourse," Democratic Sen. Edward Kennedy (news, bio, voting record) of Massachusetts said in a statement released on Saturday.
Several conservatives were also quick to denounce Coulter's comments in a variety of online columns.
Coulter is no stranger to controversy.
At the same conference last year, she used the word "raghead" -- a slur against Muslims -- in referring to U.S. homeland security policies. In a column published in the National Review after the September 11 attacks she urged an invasion of Muslim countries and forced conversion to Christianity.
